What should a small business blog about?

The best content ideas are already in your inbox. Write down the questions customers ask before they buy, and answer them better than anyone else does.

Answer the questions you hear every week

Keep a running list of what customers ask on the phone, by email and in quotes. Each good question is an article. These are the searches people type into Google and the questions they ask AI assistants.

Explain what affects the price

People research cost before they call. Even if you don't publish prices, an article explaining what changes the cost, and what a good job includes, builds trust and filters out the wrong enquiries.

Compare the options honestly

Articles like 'repair or replace?' or 'which option suits a small home?' help buyers decide. Being straight about when your service isn't the right fit makes the rest of what you say more believable.

Show real work

Short case studies with the problem, what you did and the result, with photos, prove you can do the job. Mentioning the town or area also helps local search.

Quality over quantity

One genuinely useful article a month beats four thin ones. Make each one specific, written in plain language, and linked to the service page it relates to, so readers have a clear next step.
