Start with your Google Business Profile
Claim and verify it, choose the most accurate primary category, and add the secondary categories that genuinely apply. Fill in services, opening hours, service areas, a proper description and real photos of your work and team.
Keep it active. Updates, new photos and answered questions show Google the business is current.
Reviews matter more than almost anything
The number of reviews, how recent they are and what they say all affect where you appear. Ask every happy customer, make it easy with a direct link, and reply to every review, good or bad.
Reviews that mention the service and the town, in the customer's own words, help most.
Make your details match everywhere
Your business name, address and phone number should be the same on your website, your Google profile, Facebook and directories like Finda and Yellow. Mismatched details make Google less confident about which listing is right.
Give your website a page for each service and area
Your website supports your map listing. A clear page for each main service, and for the main towns you work in, with your contact details and real examples, helps Google connect your business to those searches.
Be patient with location
Distance from the person searching is a big factor you can't change. A business can rank well in its own town and barely appear in the next one. Service-area pages, reviews from customers in those areas and steady activity help widen the reach over time.
